For years I have watched many others participate in the Pan Mass Challenge to fund the fight against cancer. The sense of involvement they felt in helping find a cure for cancer has made me decide to join the team myself to help battle this disease that affects us all.
I am riding the 1-day Wellesley to Wellesley 50 mile ride on August 6, because we need to continue to support the vital research that will lead to better treatment and ending the myriad of cancers.
As I train my mind is occupied by the potential impact my riding can have on others, which helps pass the time and makes this process even more meaningful.
Most excitingly, I am joining Team Mr. Peanut (Dave put in a good word for me as he is one of the original members who started in 2011!), there are 10 people on the team this year! I will start riding at 7AM on August 6 – let’s hope it doesn’t rain or is 100 degrees that day!
