This summer, I will once again be riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge in memory of my niece, Molly, who bravely fought cancer but was taken from us far too soon. Her strength, courage, and spirit inspire me every day, and I ride to honor her and the countless others whose lives have been impacted by this terrible disease.
Cancer has deeply affected my family. I also ride in memory of my cousins, John Farrell and John Murphy, as well as my uncles, Jimmy McCarthy, Henry McCarthy, and Joseph Farrell, and of course, my niece, Molly. Additionally, I ride to celebrate my sister, Susanne, who is currently in remission from leukemia, and my mother, Eileen, who recently underwent treatment for breast cancer. Their journeys are a testament to resilience, and I am grateful every day for their strength.
The Pan-Mass Challenge isn’t just a ride; it’s a movement. Last year, 100% of the funds raised by riders supported the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, fueling life-saving cancer research and treatment. This year, I will be riding 162 miles, from Wellesley to Provincetown, pushing myself not only for the challenge but also for the impact this ride has in the fight against cancer.
My goal is to raise $6,000, knowing that every dollar brings us closer to a cure. I ride for Molly. I ride for my family. I ride for my mother. I ride for every patient, survivor, and loved one affected by this terrible disease.
If you would like to support my ride, please consider donating—together, we can make a difference.
