The Pan-Mass Challenge is an event near and dear to my heart. Well... I guess that phrasing isn't quite right. To borrow an overused cliche from my Elf-obsessed older sister, Christmas isn't a season, it's a feeling. That's the apt way to describe the PMC, it's a feeling. A feeling of community. A feeling of pride. A feeling of impact.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), it's estimated that in 2020 the United States will see more than 600,000 people will die from cancer. For context, that's more than one person per minute.
At the same time, however, the NIH predicts that, once again, deaths per 100,000 people will decrease in the United States. THIS is the impact that our riders, donors, and supporters are making each and every year. Annually, the Pan-Mass Challenge is responsible for over 55% of the Jimmy Fund's annual revenue, providing researchers and doctors alike with the funds they need to operate. Together, WE are making a difference.
Please consider donating to my fundraising efforts and helping in the fight against cancer. Together we can kick cancer's ass!
