Why I Ride ...
I've been inspired by the PMC since I was a little girl. In 2016, I rode my first PMC because I sincerely believed it was my turn to take up the torch I watched all of the riders I knew carry year after year. I will continue to ride as long as my legs will carry me, because the only thing that has inspired me more than the commitment of the village that raised me is bearing witness to the phenonemon of the PMC myself. Every year I am more astonished by the amount of love, hope and good will that can be crammed into one weekend. It renews my faith in humanity to see so many people working together to fight this disease. I’m riding for my own friends and loved ones who have courageously battled cancer - for both those who won the fight, and for those who did not - and for my friends and family members who fought along with them. I’m riding for those who aren’t strong enough to ride themselves. And I’m riding because I want my children to grow up in a world where a cancer diagnosis is never a death sentence.
The number of lives that have been touched by the funds generated by the PMC over the years fills me with hope for the future. Will you join me in the fight for a cure? With your support, I hope to raise $6,000 this year. 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber through its Jimmy Fund! No donation is too small – every penny helps! Thank you, in advance, for your generosity! Together, we are closer by the mile!
