This will be my 3rd PMC from Sturbridge to Provincetown. Both previous rides have been an amazing experience and a lot of time to think about why I was riding the PMC.
Like you, I have had family members and friends that have had to hear the the diagnosis, You have cancer. This is a fact that often keeps me up at night. This occupied my time on the ride, thinking about, how they hear it, what thoughts it provokes how their families shift and adjust to this life altering diagnosis. While riding there are tons of supporters and other riders honoring their loved ones all riding for one thing, so that some day, hopefully soon, people stop hearing You have cancer. Reflecting while riding and seeing the massive outpouring of support was quite overwhelming until occured IT occured to me, this CAN make a difference. This many people raising money and riding in honor of those who have been diagnosed, fought, survived and died, can make a difference, can move the needle closer to a cure for this disease that affects everyone.
This ride and this cause are about supporting everyone affected by cancer on the toughest road of their life.
I ask you not just to show your support me as I ride another 186 miles from Sturbridge to Bourne but to support the countless families now and in the future who are affected by Cancer.
Note: 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
