I'll be riding in the PMC for the first time this year. For years, I've watched friends ride in the PMC and thought it couldn't be for me--quite frankly because it sounded hard.
Ya know what's hard? Being diagnosed with cancer. Even harder? Enduring the long road of treatment and the physical and emotional rollercoaster that goes along with it. Harder still? Being 4 years old and having to spend your days fighting a battle you don't even understand.
Owen Noonan, the 4 year old son of my dear friend Lauren, was diagnosed with leukemia in December 2023. What he is going through is beyond hard. Owen has an intensive treatment plan through the Jimmy Fund and Boston Children's Hospital. He and his family have been the ultimate warriors, facing each day with a fresh sense of positivity and enthusiasm. Beating cancer isn't easy, but Owen can do hard things. With the support of everyone who loves him, Owen will do this and will be stronger for it.
I am riding in the PMC to honor his strength and bravery and to encourage anyone who can to donate to this incredible cause and help us fund the research to ensure that Owen and everyone facing such a diagnosis have the absolute best of the best when it comes to care. Participating in the PMC this year is the easiest decision I've ever made. Team Fitz is quite literally a force and I'm so proud to be on board riding alongside a group of people so strongly invested in a great cause. Please support me and all of Team Fitz in this ride!
