My PMC story began in 2010 when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer - I was one of the lucky ones - early diagnosis and a protocol designed by Dana Farber that left me cancer free after one year. My onchologist, a multi year PMC rider, suggested that I join his team and I was hooked. This is my 14th year and I just can't quit. I will be riding on team Bobby's Bunch, created in memory of my brother-in-law who passed from Stage IV lung cancer in 2022. While our team is smaller this year, we are just as COMMITTED. This year, I will be dedicating my ride to Sandy Schroeder, a work collegue who passed suddently after her cancer returned this spring. She was too young. Every day, Dana Farber is discovering new protocols to provide cancer patients with longer quality of life and soon (I hope in my lifetime) we will discover a CURE. The PMC will reach a mliestone this year over $1 billion dollars for cancer reasearch since its inception in 1980. Because of the PMC, your friends, family and colleagues that have faced this disease or will face it in the future, will be treated with the most innovative and effective treatments in the world - life saving treatments that would not be possible without the PMC.
