I'm embarking on my 4th Pan Mass Challenge in 2024, won't you please help me reach my fundraising goal of $15,000. This year the PMC, with their goal of $75M, will surpass the ONE BILLION DOLLAR mark for the Jimmy Fund. So we are all one in a Billion!
I will be joining Team Courage Coneheads August 3 & 4 as we ride nearly 200 miles over two days from Sturbridge to Provincetown MA in support of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. Some of us on the team are adding on Day 0 from the NY border to Sturbridge on Friday to make this truly a pan-Mass effort in support of cancer treatment & research!
My family has been a proud supporter of the PMC in the past because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue (a whopping $72 million) went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
Each year I ride the PMC with two lists on my jersey; one in honor of those who are currently battling cancer and another in memory of those who lost their battle. Each year, sadly, I find myself having to revise these lists...which is never a good thing. The loved ones on these lists are my motivation and inspiration to continue pedaling towards a cure.
In recent years I've watched (being generally unable to help) as family members, friends and co-workers have had their lives affected by cancer. I've seen healthy and thriving individuals be reduced to bed-laden patients, forced to undergo days and weeks of cancer treatment, with the hope that things will get better. While not every story has ended up as a triumph, I have witnessed the immense power of the cancer research and treatment community in tirelessly fighting on behalf of every patient to nurture them back to health. It is through the efforts of organizations like DFCI that cancer patients are given a chance of overcoming this life changing and life-threatening disease. For this reason, I'm dedicating my fundraising and personal training efforts to the PMC again this year to show my support for each of those people in my life who have fought tirelessly to overcome cancer.
I am grateful for any level of contribution that you can make to my PMC journey this year. Together we can work towards a cure. Below is a link to my donation page:
