This year, I will be participating in my fourth Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) and will have the opportunity of again riding with the Patriots Platelet Pedalers. The PMC will take place on the first weekend of August when I will join thousands of cyclists and ride 192 miles from Sturbridge to Provincetown. I have set my fundraising goal at $6000 where 100% of the money the team raises is earmarked for Dr. Ken Anderson at Dana Farber Cancer Institute to support his multiple myeloma research and development of novel therapies. These new treatments will benefit not only patients with myeloma but also patients with breast, lung, pancreatic and prostate cancers.
Everywhere we turn, the impact of cancer is present. We've seen family, friends and co-workers who have had their lives cut way too short. We've seen those who courageously continue to fight this disease right now and we've seen those who have battled and won. Sadly, my sister-in law lost her battle to MBC in June of 2023, mother-in-law in February of 2021, and father-in-law to lung cancer in May of 1993. Many cousins and close friends. I want to participate in the solution, rather than dwell on the problem. I look to ride in honor and memory of all the people we hold dear.
The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single athletic event in the country. How much was raised in 2023?!?! $72 MILLION!!!!
This Year's Goal......$75 MIllion!!!!
I hope you will consider joining me in this challenge.
On behalf of Dr. Ken Anderson, the Kraft Family, the New England Patriots and all associated with the Patriots Platelet Pedalers...Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!!
PS.....If you would like to dedicate your donation to someone dear, please include their name in a note. In their honor, I will carry the names on the ride
