Why I Ride ...
Hey everyone,
The summer is hopefully fast approaching and with that it means yet another ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge. This year, I will once again be riding from Wellesley to Provincetown, rolling through southeastern Massachusetts, over the bridge to Cape Cod, and past some of my favorite spots in the Cape including the canal and my second hometown of Brewster.
Of course, I will ride in memory of my mother, who passed away following a cancer diagnosis in December of 2019. As many of you know, my mother loved the PMC and especially enjoyed standing on the side of the road or at the finish line to cheer on the riders as we made our way.
She would get there hours ahead of when I arrived and literally clap until her hands hurt, so she bought little plastic clappers so she could painlessly express her enthusiasm. Our goal at the PMC is simple: to live in a world in which no families have to endure what mine and countless others have. The PMC has been dedicated to this ambitious goal since 1980, and last year surpassed an incredible milestone of having raised more than $1 billion.
As always, every rider-raised dollar goes to benefit the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. I greatly appreciate your past support and hope I can count on your donation again this year.
Thank you,
Chris
