Why I Ride ...
On August 2nd, I embark on my 7th ride in the Pan Mass Challenge, riding with my dear family and friends on Team Suzy-Q. I always ride in honor of my sister, Sue-Ellen Lyons, who we lost in 2007 at the age of 48. Throughout her entire battle with leukemia, Sue had an incredibly positive attitude - she was so determined to beat the disease. During her stay at Dana Farber for treatment, she would walk up and down the hallways, greeting fellow patients with her wonderful smile, offering encouragement to think postive - keep fighting. I ride in the PMC because every dollar raised by its riders goes directly to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. I ride to carry on Sue's battle, in the hope that one day a positive attitude WILL lead to the cure for cancer. And, this year, I ride in memory of my aunt, Renee Murphy, who quietly fought her long battle with cancer bravely, fiercely, and with the utmost grace. Many, many thanks to all of the wonderful supporters - past, present & future - of my ride, and of Team Suzy-Q! We ride the bikes, however, you get us to the finish line!
