The reality is everyone has experienced the effects cancer leaves in its path. The reason I ride is because now, I know more and more people that survive; more and more people that see the hope. I ride because all of your support is making a difference in the lives of more people than you can even imagine.
It is easy to see the importance of taking part in a fundraiser that gives 100% of the money to charity. I don't need to write an essay on the differences the PMC has made, and I definitely don't need to explain to people why cancer sucks....but the work isn't over yet!
The PMC along with Dana-Farber are making a difference! The growing “living proof” group, the countless signs along the way saying “thank you, I’m a survivor”, the children giving high fives as they are currently battling cancer, and the miles of pictures approaching a day 1 water stop that show some of the children in the fight. It’s hard not to get emotional on the ride, but the sadness for those we have lost is quickly followed by an immense feeling of hope; hope that comes from the Jimmy Fund and from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s tireless commitment to finding a cure.
I don’t know how long it will take to end cancer, but I can promise you that the PMC and Dana-Farber will be there leading the charge! I promise you that any money you can donate WILL make a difference!
Please be part of that difference and let’s continue to support the efforts that will someday lead to a cure, any little bit helps!
