I have again committed to raising money for cancer research and care by riding in the 2024 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC). I will join more than 6000 cyclists in the 45th PMC, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. The 2-day PMC ride covers 192 miles, from Sturbridge to Provincetown, and I plan to do a solo Day 0 ride the day before, from the NY State border to Sturbridge, for a total mileage of 300 miles.

This year will be my 16th PMC, riding in memory of and in honor of all those who are battling, have battled, or have been touched by this horrific disease. I first rode the PMC in 1989, in memory of my first wife, Jan, who died of cancer in 1988 at the age of 29 after being treated and cared for at Dana Farber. My wife Valyn will support me as “crew” for several of my rides this year – she was successfully treated for breast cancer at Dana Farber in 2019, so the PMC has even more meaning for me now.

I've made a personal commitment to raise $10000 and I hope you can help me reach this goal. This year I will be riding as a member of Team Duncan (formerly Team WOW) – Valyn’s Medical Oncologist is the Team Duncan Honorary Captain, and all funds raised will go towards care and research focused on breast and gynecological cancers.

100 percent of every dollar donated supports Dana-Farber’s world-class research and care. The PMC raised $69 million last year, and $900 million since 1980!
