The 2024 Pan-Mass Challenge Funding campaign culminated with the infamous PMC ride on the first week-end of August 2024.
Every dollar raised through PMC is fueling research against cancer, and bringing hope for parents and grandparents who want to see their kids grow, for a child unsure about his future. So THANK YOU to those who have already supported me, and please join these generous souls if you haven't yet, giving whatever your heart and wallet can afford.
The fundraising is still on, so listen to your heart and open your purse if you can. Thank you very much in advance for your generosity.
I'm a very proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a (fundraising) charge to beat cancer and fuel medical research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Last year 100% of rider-raised revenue ($ 72M) went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure for various forms of cancer. See this Impact page for more information..
I am no stanger to cancer myself, having lost over the years several members of my family as well as dear friends. Several other members of my family and some of my dear friends are cancer survivors themselves.
My involvment with PMC started 3 years ago as I met Steven Branfman in a bike ride organized by a local bike shop..
Steven's personal story with cancer (Jared, one of Steven's two sons, lost his battle to brain cancer at age 23 almost two decades ago now), and has since been an active and devoted member of the Fight Against Cancer cause, primarily via the PMC Organization. I joined Team Kermit, Steven's fundraising riding team two years ago as a a proud PMC first-timer. This year will see my third participation to the fundraising campaign and events.
Your gifts truly have an impact on research, cancer treatment, and change people’s lives. Together with your support and contributions, we can continue to positively impact the cancer community.
Every dollar counts. So please, make a safe and secure donation online.
Finally, I want to thank from the bottom of my heart all of you who made a donation in the past two years; please consider doing it again this year. And or new visitors to this page, I want to ask you to listen to your heart and make a donation.
With love and genuine appreciation,
Christophe.
Team Kermit rides the PMC in honor and memory of all of the people whom our teammates hold dear. What brings us together as a team is friendship and the common bond of honoring and remembering our dear son, brother and friend Jared. Team Kermit was formed in 2005 by Ellen, Adam, Jared Steven Franfman and their friends while Jared was undergoing treatment at the Jimmy Fund. The team is named for Kermit the Frog of Sesame Street fame, one of Jared's favorite childhood characters and represents the ability that people have to rise above the ordinary in order to achieve great results. Kermit inspired Jared and reminded him and all of us that we are limited only by our own dreams and desires. In September 2005, after Steven's second PMC, Jared passed away after a 2 1/2 year battle with the disease. He was 23 years old. The Jared Branfman Sunflowers For Life Fund For Pediatric Brain And Spinal Cancer Research was established in 2005 at the Jimmy Fund. All the money raised by Team Kermit goes through the PMC and into our fund. It supports research into the family of brain tumors that Jared had, and is helping to make the dream of no more cancer a reality. To date, Team Kermit has raised $4.1million. Listen to Dr. Mark Kieran, Former Director, Pediatric Medical Neuro-Oncology, and the former administrator of our fund, talk about the advancements that have been, and are being made, because of your support: https://vimeo.com/217691250
