I am writing to share that I will be riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) once again this year, marking my fifth year participating in this incredible event to support cancer research.
A quick reflection on last year's journey: inspired by your generosity, I started a day early and rode from the PMC Wellesley start at Babson College to the traditional start line in Sturbridge, MA. This solo ride, filled with personal reflection, renewed my sense of purpose and determination. Including the 2-day event, I totaled over 250 miles, a powerful reminder of why I ride and the impact we can make together.
This year, the mission has become even more personal. My dear friend, who inspired my additional day of riding, passed away in December. He was strong, loyal, and brave all the way to the end—a truly remarkable person who is sorely missed by all who knew him. In April, my parents also lost a close friend after a long, courageous journey with cancer. I feel incredibly blessed to have had them both in my life, and their memories give me hope and added inspiration to continue raising money for those still impacted, or could be impacted, by this disease. To that point, just a few months ago, my beloved uncle was diagnosed and has now begun his journey with this illness. These losses and diagnoses underscore the critical importance of the work being done at places like Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which the PMC supports.
I am again honored to ride alongside my brother, uncles, cousins, and friends as part of Team Cyclosaurass. Our commitment is unwavering, and our resolve is stronger than ever. We ride for those we have lost, for those still impacted, and for a future free from cancer.
As I embark on this year's ride, I will carry the memories of our loved ones with me. Your past generosity has been a beacon of hope and has propelled us closer to finding a cure. Today, I am reaching out once again to ask for your support. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to eradicating cancer. An astounding 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber. This is why your support is so vital and impactful.
Love, Topher
