For Ted
Hi Family and Friends,
Team Highlanders is back and looking forward to another Pan-Mass Challenge. Last year we raised over $50,000 - which placed us into the “Heavy Hitters” bracket of fundraising. Our team has grown from 8 riders to nearly 20! Each addition with their own story for how cancer has effected someone close to them. We are so incredibly grateful for all your support!
As we turn our focus to the future and our 2024 PMC ride, I am inspired by the fighting spirit of Ted. For two decades he rode and fundraised for the Pan-Mass Challenge. His passion for the cause and community was paramount to him. He was constantly imploring people to get on a bike and ride. To him, there was no greater charity to fundraise for. When Ted was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, we all saw Dana Farber’s impact on those who have to fight this terrible disease. From cutting-edge innovation in medicine to the quality of care from every person we worked with, there is truly no greater cause I can think of to help.
Nobody likes asking for money and these days more than ever we all are feeling the pinch. However, I can promise you from first-hand experience that your money is going to a great cause. With your support, we rally behind all those who battle or have battled with this disease. The toll that cancer takes not only on the patient but on their families as well is colossal. Our experience with Dana Farber touched us all and I can assure you that the money we donate goes to a fantastic cause for those who battle.
The countless stories from friends near and far about Ted heading out before sunrise only to greet them with a smile and a cold beer at the end of each ride is the attitude we strive to carry on. We champion his legacy and hope to be a little more like Ted every day.
Thanks for your support.
Love,
C
