Life changes in ways hard to imagine when you’re told you have aggressive cancer. It’s as if you’re outside yourself watching a movie then the sinking feeling hits. Your head spins and you try to listen. You experience emotions you’ve never felt and they never really go away. Throughout your journey you always look for hope and in our case we hoped for more time. We got that from Dana Farber.
It's hard to believe it's been three years since I shared my wife’s journey upon receiving our diagnosis. You rallied with support and our “thank you” is not enough to express our gratitude. We are honored and humbled by your kindness, sincerely and deeply. We’ve experienced so many miracles and blessings, and many things we hope no one else has to. We’ve walked over the PMC bridge linking Dana Farber with Brigham & Women’s on our way to meet with our radiologist, and received life changing gifts of love, support, and encouragement from many.
The care each cancer patient receives from Dana Farber is possible only because of you. The PMC supports Dana Farber with 100% of your donation going to research and patient care. Your support makes a difference in many lives and when researchers discover the cure it will be because of you.
This is my 15th year riding the PMC and the incredible privilege of supporting Dana Farber Cancer Institute through your generous contributions. I’m blessed to know many survivors and fighters. We remain fighters ourselves experiencing first-hand Dana Farber’s expertise, compassion and mission.
Mary Angel Dery; my wife’s older sister and beautifully gifted and cherished daughter of Ken and Anne, was 9 years old when leukemia took her life. Kerri Ann Murphy; my friend, spin instructor, mother of three, was an amazingly strong person who fought cancer until December 29, 2013. Ken; my father-in-law, recently saw remission from an experimental course of treatment. Sadly, my brother in law David lost his 9-year battle to melanoma in May 2022 just weeks after Debra was diagnosed
Dana Farber’s research is making a difference and helping! A few years after Mary’s passing their researchers found a 90% cure rate for the cancer that took her life - Lymphocytic Leukemia. One day we will never have to fight cancer because we found a cure, together. Please consider joining me on that mission. Thank you!
