I am riding in the 2024 Pan Mass Challenge (PMC)! This year, I am honored to support the PMC by riding and fundraising, and I am thrilled to be riding alongside my mom and dad. Cancer has played a significant role in my life, deeply affecting our family in the Hale household.
Growing up, cancer was a constant presence in our lives. My mom was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and she bravely battled through intense chemotherapy. The treatment was so rigorous that while it successfully eradicated her initial cancer, it unfortunately led to her developing leukemia a few years later. Despite this daunting setback, my mom's resilience shone through once more, and a bone marrow transplant saved her. Her bone marrow transplant donor was my Uncle Dudley, who, after saving my mother, passed away a couple of years later due to a different kind of cancer.
Witnessing my mom's journey firsthand, I have seen the immense physical and emotional toll that cancer can take. Her strength and determination have been a profound inspiration to me and our entire family. It's stories like hers that highlight the urgent need for continued research and advancements in cancer treatment.
Today, my father also battles cancer. The fight against cancer continues.
Cancer impacts so many lives, and my goal is to raise money to help find cures and provide hope to those affected. The PMC is unwavering in its mission, with 100 percent of the funds raised by participants going directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
If you are able, please support our efforts to fund cures for cancer. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together, we can help ensure that more families have a chance to celebrate survivorship and create memories free from the shadow of cancer.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
