Dot Ormsby, Sandra Howerton, Peter Howerton, Cathy Maher, Billy Ormsby. While all of these people are no longer with us, they all have something extremely important in common; they all benefitted from treatments pioneered at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Their suffering was lessened due to the pioneering treatments and therapies that are developed at the Dana.
Grandparents, friends, colleagues, parents, siblings. We all know someone who has been touched by cancer in one form or another. It is a lousy disease, however every day researchers are making progress in their fight to control and eradicate cancer once and for all. I am continuing to ride as a way to pay tribute and honor those who struggled with the pain of cancer. Treatments have come a long ways recently. Detection of cancerous cells are being made earlier and earlier, with ever increasing accuracy. In fact, doctors are able to more accurately identify forms of cancer today and they are able to treat the various forms of the disease more intelligently and strategically.
This would not have been possible without the research that the Pan Mass Challenge has helped to make possible over the years. Please help to continue to find new ways to not only detect and treat cancer, but to also help alleviate the pain of those suffering with the disease by making a contribution to my 16th Pan Mass Challenge ride.
Contributions can be made directly to my PMC account by logging into www.pmc.org/egifts/CH0045 or they can be made out to PMC and sent directly to me at 333 Forest St Marshfield MA, 02050.
Thank you for your support.
