Riding for a Cure
Dear Family and Friends,
After a six-year hiatus, I am back in the saddle again (so much for my last and final ride in 2018). I am back because cancer sucks and we need to find a cure.
Over the last six years, I lost close friends to the disease, and I have friends who lost their children to the disease. I am riding because I miss Beth, Cheryl, and Carol. I am riding because 7-year-old Sydney, 25-year-old Allie, and 27-year-old Kelsey should still be here today. I am riding because no parent should suffer the loss of a child to cancer. I am riding to celebrate friends who have survived the disease because of advancements in medical treatment funded by the millions of dollars raised by the PMC. I am also riding because, for the first time, I have a family member battling metastatic cancer and I want to do more.
I am honored to be part of history in a year when the Pan Mass Challenge will eclipse the $1 billion mark in funds raised for cancer research and treatment. I am also proud that my past rides have raised over $100,000 toward the cause. It will be a hot and humid two days of riding and I will need to dig deep to get from Wellesley to Provincetown. I hope you will also dig deep and help me reach my fundraising goal.
Thank you always for your love and support,
Cathy
