Why I Ride ...
Please join me in supporting the Dana Farber Cancer Institure through the Pan- Mass Challenge.
The last time I requested your support of cancer research and patient care, I was in Cleveland and was raising funds for the Cleveland Clinic through their Velosano ride as I prepared to celebrate one year of remission after being treated for Stage3B colorectal cancer. This May, I celebrated 5 years since my last round of chemotherapy! A major milestore as the chance of recurrence significantly decreases for this cancer if it does not return in the first 5 years after treatment. It feels as if I can truly let that big sigh or relief out and not be so anxious about what a potential scan may reveal on my next visit.
5 years later, I also live in Boston, where I recently relocated and am continuing my patient care at the Dana Farber, while still doing cancer research- this time for an exciting biotech, Odyssey Therapeutics, that I could not be more thrilled to be a part of. My 3 Velosano rides in support of the Cleveland Clinic, before, during and after my cancer care there are an important part of my personal history- I made the most dear friends while having a lot of fun supporting a cause near and dear to my heart. With these memories in mind, I am now participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge- a ride that supports cancer research and patient care at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Moreover, I am doing so as part of the Odyssey Therapeutics team- a great group of like minded individuals dedicated to cancer and immunology research and drug development. I am excited to get involved with the PMC/ Dana Farber community as a patient, survivor and advocate for patient care and cancer research. I would be so grateful if you could support my participation in the PMC ride.
I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
My last day of chemo, May 2018!
