I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. For the first time, funds raised through my team, Team SSH: Riding as One (South Shore Hospital), support present and future patients being treated by Dana-Farber and South Shore Hospital. Patients like my friend Theresa Cazeault who recently completed her treatments and is doing fabulously! Like so many other south shore residents, Theresa had the misfortune of being diagnosed with breast cancer but was able to be treated like so many other south shore residents in Weymouth. Theresa was able to receive her treatments without having to drive into Boston which allowed her to maintain her hectic schedule of working, taking care of her four kids and home as well as spending time (albeit not very much time :) with her husband.
Many of you know that I am currently the Friends of South Shore Hospital and a member of the Board of Trustees of the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation. I have been involved with the hospital for almost 10 years now and very proud of the advancements the hospital has made in treating the residents of the south shore.
I hope I can count on you to support my ride by contibuting to this special cause. Thank you in advance for your support and for making a differenc in the lives of our families, friends and neighbors battling cancer.
