Because I can…...
I first starting riding the Pan Mass Challenge in 2007 shortly before my mother passed away from a multiple year fight against multiple (4!) forms of cancer. It was a tough battle for her, my dad and my siblings. While there was nothing I could do for her, I could certainly help others simply by riding my bike.
A few years ago a friend of mine joined a growing list of people that i know that were diagnosed with cancer. With the help of Dana Farber (and his family) he battled and he is winning the battle. He and his family were also supported by Dana Farber with housing and food while going through treatment. While the money we raise is going toward finding a way to eradicate this disease, my friends experience showed me that a portion of the money we raise is going to help the patients battle this insidious disease.
Those who know me well know that I don't like riding on the road any longer yet I have found a way that I can contribute without riding on the road. During PMC weekend, I will be riding in the PMC re-imagined and riding the same mileage as the road riders on my Peloton! I can still ride, I can still contribute so I now ask you to contribute to my re-imagined ride. As usual, 100% of the proceeds raised go to fight this disease and support those who are battling cancer. I appreciate your help!
