Dear Family & Friends,
Welcome to PMC 2024! This will be my 13th Pan Mass Challenge (if you know me you know how much I fear the #13 but I’ve got this….)! On August 3 & 4, 2024 I will join my amazing Team Duncan teammates and thousands of other riders to ride across Massachusetts to raise funds for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country. In 2023 the PMC raised $72M and recently announced an unprecedented 2024 fundraising goal of $75 million. For the 18th consecutive year, the PMC will donate 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to support lifesaving cancer research and treatment as DFCI’s largest single contributor. If achieved, this year’s gift would bring the PMC’s total contributions to DFCI to $1 billion since 1980. The 2023 PMC ride was the most spectacular from a weather perspective. Let’s hope for a repeat…… Once again, we had a great fundraising year last year with $19.4K, bringing our 12-year total to $163K! Team Duncan raised an astounding $1M. Can we do it again, Heck Ya we can!
Being able to ride again this year is extra special to me for a few reasons. As I have written in the past few years, I ride in memory of my nephew Matthew who we lost after Leukemia treatment in 2021. This year I will be joined on Team Duncan by two of his close friends and their wives, Mike and Jacki Colecchi and Nick Dalimonte and Ashley Mongeon. It is an amazing tribute to Matthew, and I could not be more honored to ride with them. I have linked their pages below if you would like to read their stories. Nick has just completed his own cancer treatments and his strength and courage to take on this challenge is inspiring!
Also, in the fall of this year I will pass the 15-year mark from my own Breast Cancer diagnosis. Not sure how that happened! I am thankful for my health and ability to continue to ride and grateful for the connections I have made that have allowed me to pay it forward and help others who are newly diagnosed. I hope my story can give them hope and strength.
As always, I continue to remember my original motivator, Lisa Gerritzen and Team Duncan‘s inspiration Duncan Finigan, who each lost their lives to Metastatic Breast Cancer. As well as all the other friends and family members who have faced this devastating disease. Your/Their strength and memories motivate me to keep working to help find the cure.
I am hopeful I can count on your support once again, be part of “One in a Billon”. As always, your donation is 100% tax deductible. You can donate online with this link http://www.pmc.org/profile/CD0202 or if you prefer to write a check, please make it out to the PMC, The Jimmy Fund or Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and mail it to me directly at: Cindy DiTullio 17 Daley Drive, West Newbury, MA 01985
