Why I Ride ...
Riding the Pan-Mass Challenge has been on my bucket list for years, but life and logistics made it tough to get back to Massachusetts for the event. But I’ve decided it’s time to dust off the spandex and take on the ride for a cause that hits close to home.
The last time I raised money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute was back in 2010, when I ran the Boston Marathon — less than a year after I lost my dad to esophageal cancer. That experience, and the generosity I saw from friends and family, left a lasting impression. Now, 15 years later, a few weeks before my 40th birthday (yikes) I’m proud to be back on the fundraising trail, this time on two wheels.
About the PMC
This year is the 45th annual Pan-Mass Challenge, a two-day bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC has raised over $1 billion for cancer research and care since 1980 — and 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes directly to Dana-Farber.
Dana-Farber has pioneered breakthroughs in cancer treatment, care, and prevention. Your donation helps support the doctors, nurses, and researchers working every day to bring hope to patients and families impacted by cancer.
