COVID has changed a lot of things in our lives including the cancellation of the traditional approach to the PMC. But, it has not changed cancer. And, now more than ever, talented doctors and researchers need our support to continue to fight cancer. And, so we ride on by Reimagining PMC 2020!
Let's Make It Count! This year, we face the unique challenge of riding 200-miles in 2-days without the logistics support of the PMC organization. On Saturday September 19, my son Adam and I will embark on our own 200-mile ride throughout eastern Missouri - COVID safe.
We will travel through more than 2 dozen communities to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through PMC 2020 Reimagined. Our ride will take us to iconic landmarks like Molly Brown's in Pacific, MO, climbs from the parking lot to high above the Screaming Eagle at Six Flags, the Missouri River and the Mississippi River, old-town St. Charles and Jefferson Barracks. The climbs in Wildwood will certainly be tough. But, climbing those hills is nothing compared to the hill climbing done by those that battle cancer.
Thanks to your support, Max is now 8 years old! And, while COVID has kept us from meeting our new Pedal Partner, Asada is winning her battle with cancer too!
Regrettably, I was recently reminded of the urgency of our efforts when just after 7 weeks following the initial diagnosis I lost a very close friend to this awful disease. I PMC for Asada, in memory of my friend, to celebrate Max's victory and for so many who fight with them including our good friend Jeff. There is too much riding on this for me to get off the bike. I need your support - please be generous.
