Why I Ride ...
I am riding in memory of my brother, Ryszard (Rish). He passed away in February 2023 after a six month battle with bile duct cancer.
Rish was incredibly resilient and was determined to beat the disease. He had it on his bucket list to ride the PMC in August 2023. The night before he passed, he asked me Conrad, when is the Pan Mass Challenge? I responded first weekend in August. Rish then said with conviction.. we are riding the PMC in August!
Rish dedicated his life to helping others. He was a teacher and a guidance counselor. He was selfless and truly committed to helping people. On the day of his funeral the local high school closed for the day so teachers and students could attend and give Rish a wonderful send off. The chapel was full, and several hundred people stood in the parking lot watching the funeral on a big screen. It was clear to everyone that the world was a better place with Rish in it because of the positive impact he had on everyone's lives.
Rish was a family man. Much loved husband to Kohine, adored father of Kelly (18), Ashley (15) and Anthony (13), and beloved son of Ryszard and Kelly.
