I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer through the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This is my first time participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge and I am really excited to be riding with my Slalom colleagues and alumni. While I cycle regularly, this will be my longest and most rewarding ride.

On the first weekend in August, I will join thousands of cyclists in the PMC, an annual bike-a-thon that raises money for research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country - $831 million since 1980 and a record $64 million last year alone! This success is the result of a lot of people riding for and caring about a cure. And because every dollar matters, 100 percent of your donation goes to Dana-Farber.

We all have some family and friends that have won and lost their battles with cancer and I am riding for all of them. I ride because I want my children and my grandchildren to grow up without the fear of getting cancer. With research dollars now at risk, fund raising events like the PMC are even more critical to improving the odds that more of us will have the opportunity to beat cancer or avoid being stricken with cancer in the future.
