Hello Family, Friends and Colleagues,
For my eighth consecutive year, I will be participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge with my Team Crank teammates this August. Become one in a billion and help PMC hit $1 billion raised cumulatively.
In 2024 The Warren Alpert Foundation has once again generously pledged to matchTeam Crank's donations up to $500,000 of every tax deductible dollar you donate. With the match, Team Crank has the opportunity to eclipse $1 million raised again in 2024, but we need your support to do so again
On Day Zero of PMC weekend, at least two of my Team Crank teammates and I will be riding from Lennox, MA out to the NY state border, then to Sturbridge. After than, we will join the traditional PMC route from Sturbridge to Provincetown, for a total of almost 300 miles in three days.
I am dedicated to riding in the PMC to help raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where my son Grant received his cancer care. It has now been eight years since Grant was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL). After two years of intensive chemotherapy and brain radiation, Grant finished his treatment in August 2017 and is now a healthy, athletic, almost 14 year old.
I will also be riding in memory of my mom, who passed away unexpectedly from cancer in the fall of 2017. My mom was an avid biker, having completed many Century rides with my dad.
During this year's ride, I'll be thinking of my friend, colleague and fellow PMC rider, Tony Cipullo, who passed unexpectedly just prior to PMC 2023.
I've made a personal commitment to raise $20,000 (before the match) and I hope you can help me reach this goaI. My wife Katie and I remain grateful every single day that Grant was able to survive his leukemia. We know that he is alive today because of the extraordinary progress in pediatric cancer research over the past 50 years, in large part funded by generous private donors like you. We would be very grateful if you would consider making a donation in support of pediatric cancer research, in honor of survivors, loved ones lost, and those children who continue to battle every day. With your help, more kids like Grant will continue to survive and thrive. Donating is easy. Click here: https://profile.pmc.org/BW0120 (which will give you options to donate by credit card, by Venmo or through Fidelity Charitable Gift fund accounts) or you can send a check to me, payable to the Pan Mass Challenge, at 49 Hager Lane, Boxborough, MA 01719.
As always, I would be honored to ride in support or memory of your loved ones who have been touched by this terrible disease.
Thanks for your support,
Bill
