This summer I will ride in the Pan-Mass Challenge, a 200 mile bike-a-thon that not only inspires hope for families and individuals dealing with cancer -- including my own -- but also generates further awareness of the crippling magnitude this ugly disease. During the first week of August, I will take to the road -- among thousands of other riders -- in a united battle cry against cancer.

While I ride in honor of all those touched by cancer, my mother will especially be on my mind. Having been diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2002, she exemplifies courage -- a life and love that unselfishly withstands the uncertainties and pains of cancer.

I have committed to raising $4,500 for this cause. All donations are tax deductible and go to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute for cancer research and treatment. Every dollar counts. As my mother explains: “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute saved my life.”
