What a year it has been! The last 15 months have been different for all of us and for many they have been challenging. I hope you are well and looking forward to better times ahead.
In 2020 so many of you generously supported my “re-imagined” version of the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), which combined a variety of solo and small group rides that were each in some way connected to the spirit of our annual ride for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Thank you again for helping me raise over $9,100 last year and for helping the PMC raise $50M in the face of the pandemic.
This year I’m happy to say that the PMC is making a partial return to normalcy! On Saturday, August 6th, I will join thousands of fellow riders on an 89 mile journey from Babson College in Wellesley, MA to Mass Maritime Academy in Bourne, MA. While there won’t be any BBQs, events or lodging before or after the ride, I’m really looking forward to the exhilaration that comes from riding with so many others that share a common purpose - funding cancer research and treatment.
I am riding and asking for your support because while the past months have been challenging for many of us, every month of every year is challenging for those with cancer and too often the months and years simply run out. This year I will ride for my friend Rich, whose time ran out in April of 2020. Thankfully, the extraordinarily talented and committed doctors, nurses, researchers and staff at DFCI are changing this patient by patient. We make their efforts possible.
I’ve done the PMC every year since our return to MA in 2013 and your support has been truly amazing. I hope you will consider continuing your generous commitment to the fight against cancer.
