This summer, on August 3rd and 4th, I'll be participating in my fourth Pan Mass Challenge ride, covering the route from Sturbridge to Provincetown. Riding alongside my sister and uncle in previous years, I've grown to cherish both the ride itself and the supportive community that lines the route. I eagerly anticipate my return this summer and am eagerly counting down the days!
Cancer is a devastating disease, claiming the lives of over 600,000 people annually in the United States alone. Its impact touches everyone, whether through personal diagnosis or the experience of loved ones. While treatments like chemotherapy and surgery can sometimes provide relief, they offer no guarantee of permanent remission. My motivation for riding stems from the profound ways cancer has affected my own life. I've lost my grandfathers, Salvatore Trovato and Bill Scanlon, as well as my great grandmothers, Mable MacLean and Myra Scanlon, to this disease. Additionally, I stand in solidarity with friends and family members who continue to battle cancer. My participation in the PMC aims to raise funds to combat this disease, with a personal goal of raising $6,000 for cancer research at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Your support in achieving this goal will make a tangible impact towards finding a cure and ending the suffering caused by cancer.
Every donation, regardless of size, is deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support!
