It’s that time of year again. I am writing once again to ask you to support my 13th ride in the PanMass Challenge, raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s life-saving cancer research and treatment. Last year, the PMC surpassed $1 billion in total funds raised, and we’re not done yet.
I ride with Team Ovarian Cancer, supporting the work of my own oncologist, Dr. Ursula Matulonis, Chief of Gynecologic Oncology. More specifically, we support her work with immunology that boosts a patient’s own immune system to fight cancers more naturally. It is because of your donations, Stage 1 clinical trials have begun, while concurrently, they are working on Phase 2.
Dr. Matulonis is doing for women with late-stage ovarian cancer what she did for me four years ago; she is saving their lives; she is giving them hope.
Each year, I highlight the number of American women diagnosed with ovarian cancer, 20,000 in 2024. That’s a number that is not declining. We need a cure. Dr. Matulonis and her team have dedicated their careers to finding one. To me, she’s a real-life superhero, and it’s why I have committed to riding 84 miles from Wellesley to Bourne and raising $15,000 to support her. Every dollar I raise along with every dollar raised by Team Ovarian Cancer will help fund her work. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.
Let’s cure ovarian cancer in our lifetime. Thank you.
