Dear Family and Friends,
This year marks the 8th year I will be riding the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) from Wellesley to Provincetown to help raise money to cure cancer. The ride will take place August 3rd and 4th and is 163 miles long. Along with more than 6,000 other riders we hope to raise more than $60 million dollars which will be donated to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a world class institution in Boston whose goal is to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases.
This year's ride is even more special because the lifetime total that the PMC has raised is expected to exceed $1 Billion Dollars!!!!! The impact the PMC has had on raising funds is truly amazing.
Raising money that goes towards cancer research and treatment is extremely important to me. My wife Ashley lost both of her parents to this terrible disease. In addition to my immediate family connection, every year family members and close friends continue to be impacted. In short, each year seems to provide additional reasons to continue the effort. During the ride, we meet and see cancer survivors cheering us on, many of which have survived 20 years or more since their initial cancer diagnosis. This truly proves that we are making a difference!
Once again I am proud to be riding with The Pedals for Pediatrics (P4P) team. Pedals for Pediatrics is a team that focuses on helping to raise money for childhood cancer research as well as supporting the families of these young cancer patients.
Please support me and donate to this incredible cause, no amount is too big or too small in the fight to cure Cancer!
Thank you in advance!
Ben
