Once again I am preparing to ride over 200 miles the weekend of August 5-6 in The Pan Mass Challenge.

As many of you know, I originally decided to ride as a way of saying thank you.  Over 20 years ago my dad was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable cancer of the bone marrow.  At that time the life expectancy for someone diagnosed with multiple myeloma was three to five years.  In May, my dad celebrated his 90th birthday!  During those 20 years, we've seen so many other family members and friends impacted by cancer.  While not everyone has had the same type of results as my dad, many have been able to achieve better outcomes, better health and improved quality of life thanks to the tremendous advances made in the research and treatment of so many forms of cancer.  But the battle isn't over, the work continues and that's why I and so many others will be clipping in and hitting the road in August.

The Pan Mass Challenge raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country and 100% of all rider raised revenue goes directly to support Dana-Farber Hospital and The Jimmy Fund.  In fact the PMC accounts for over half of The Jimmy Fund's annual revenue.
