PLEASE help me raise money for CANCER RESEARCH. One hundred percent of the money raised will be donated to the Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This will be my 20th ride and, with your help, we have raised over $191,038. I feel honored to ride with a few thousand other people as part of one of the greatest events in which I have ever participated. On the first Saturday and Sunday of August, I will be pedaling again for this great cause. As I have noted in the past, one of the reasons I am doing this is due to the deaths of my mom, Lorraine Messier as well as my brother-in-law, Roger Trapper St. Martin from cancer. My niece has had problems with this disease as did my dad. I have lost aunts and uncles. My wife's sister, Marjorie Fox passed away from this disease.

This year I will once again be riding as a member of the Patriot Platelet Pedalers. I still have cookbooks to sell, if anyone is interested. I have over 500 platelet donations, these are needed by cancer patients. As I have said many times, I am not a doctor, nor do I know much about the cure, but I can ride a bike and hopefully, with your help, we can make a strong effort to do away with this dreaded menace of a disease. I am encouraged so much by the incredible advances in cancer treatment ranging from chemotherapies to advances with stem cell research. I so hope for the day when the cure rate will increase even more! Remember, there is no such thing as a donation to small, every penny coounts!
