I am happy to be returning to the PMC for my 11th ride! I began riding in 2008 following the death of my brother John following a short struggle with Leukemia (ALL) I have always remained committed to raising money to further research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a hope for better outcomes for those diagnosed with some form of cancer. What this event has done over the years to advance better treatment outcomes is nothing short of amazing.

Every rider and volunteer participates because there is a good reason that compels them. Riders train in all sorts of weather wearing all sorts of crazy gear. Volunteers show up and make sandwiches, hand out water, gatorade, Del's lemonade, energy bars....you name it and the snacks of your dreams are there to fuel you. Then there are the sag wagon drivers who help struggling riders or repair flats. And what about all the medical personnel? And traffic officers? And the good people of the towns along the PMC routes, who are out there cheering, high-fiving, handing out water, saying endless versions of THANK YOU, RIDERS! It is an incredible experience, and there is always a moment on the ride where I am brought to tears because there is so.much.heart in every mile. I will proudly return to my training routines, and the morning of the ride, I will happily pull on this year's jersey and join my fellow riders in the Trim parking lot at Babson College in Wellesley as we head off for our destination of the day and the larger goal of eradicating cancer.

Please won't you join me in supporting the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as I ride to honor my friend Joanne and all those courageously living with cancer, and also in memory of a wise mentor and friend who fought a good fight. I ride also for a special patient of mine whose memory is now a blessing to those who knew him.

I am grateful for your well wishes, good thoughts, and financial support as we all come together to fund this important research.  My parting PSA is to remind you to look after your own health by eating food that is minimally processed, get regular physical activity, drink water, get 7 hours+ sleep/day, connect with people, avoid risky substances, and manage your stress.  Your health is your greatest asset!!!
