I'm a proud supporter and participant of the PMC because it is leading the charge to beat all forms of cancer. I ride because 100% of rider-raised revenue goes directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure. Last year riders rasied a collective $72 million, bringing the total amount raised for DFCI by the PMC over it's more than 40 year history to $972 million.
This year, the PMC strives to achieve a very significant milestone, as we aim to cross over $1 BILLION raised over the life of the event.
This year, I will again ride as a part of Team CRUS11TOUR. Our Team's mission is to raise critical funds to support brain cancer research with a specific focus on Glioblastoma. This is a niche brain cancer where research funding and pharmaceutical support is limited. 100% of the money raised through CRUS11TOUR goes to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for brain cancer research,
Most significantly, I ride in honor of and in memory of too many friends, relatives and colleagues who have battled one of the many forms of cancer, some successfully and others not. Our Team rides in honor of Davey Hovey, who succumbed to glioblastoma at age 26 and who is the inspiration for the Crus11tour team. I ride because my efforts, along with more than 6500 riders, bring us closer by the mile to winning the fight to cure cancer.
Everyone has undoubtedly been touched by cancer in one way or another. Whether it be a family member, a loved one, you personally, this disease affects us all. This year, I am riding in honor of Tom, Ida, Dre, Lee and CC.
If comfortable and compelled, please help me reach my goal in support of this incredible organization and truly worthy cause...One mile at a time!
