Dear Friends and Family,
Summer is here and that means the Pan-Mass Challenge(PMC) is right around the corner. This will be my 11th year riding the PMC and 10 years since the passing of my Uncle Pete. Each year when preparing to ride and fundraise I think about the importance of this event in helping fund lifesaving cancer treatments and cures.
I started riding and fundraising for the PMC after my Uncle Pete passed away after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. I ride each year with family members and friends on Team U.P. (Uncle Pete) in memory of him. Uncle Pete had ridden the PMC 15 times and members of our team are buddies of his that he rode the PMC with multiple times. I’m fortunate and grateful to have this group by my side for this meaningful ride.
Over the past decade since my first PMC, I have unfortunately had more family members and friends diagnosed with cancer, making my ride each year just as important as the last. I’m sure you also have friends and family members affected by cancer and it’s that monumental impact from the disease that keeps me riding the PMC every year. To ride and raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is one way I can contribute to the fight against cancer. This year, I have committed to raise $6,000 and I hope you will help me reach this goal.
The PMC is a fundraising bicycle ride for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The mission of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is to provide expert, compassionate care to children and adults with cancer while advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer and related diseases. 100 % of rider-raised dollars go directly to Dana-Farber.
I hope you are able to help me reach my fundraising goal with a donation in any amount.
Thank you,
Benjamin Evans
