I never imagined....
TEN years. The Pan-Mass Challenge has given me a way to focus my grief and do something worthwhile with this tremendous loss. In 2011 my son Evan was diagnosed with DIPG - a very rare, inoperable pediatric brain tumor. Evan passed away exactly a year after his DIPG diagnosis at age 11 -- He was an amazingly sweet and energetic little man that never let on if he was scared or uncomfortable during his treatments and Dr's visits.
Evan took part in a clinical trail at Dana-Farber and was cared for by the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff of the Jimmy-Fund Clinic. Although this treatment was not successful for him, we continue to hope that future patients will benefit from his participation. We are restricting our fundraising to support the Evan T. Mandeville DIPG Research Fund at Dana-Farber; a fund set up in Evan's memory.
There has been little progress in the treatment of this disease because it is so rare, however your support could help change the outcome for children in the future. Thank-you for any donation you are able to make. Please ask your employer if they have a matching gift program, it could double your gift and bring us closer to our goal and closer to a cure.
If you'd like to join us for some fundraising events check out our Evan's Crew website and our Facebook Page.
