Thank you to everyone who has made this event possible throughout my life – to those who write checks of any amount, carry bags, make sandwiches, repair bikes, offer medical care along the route, and to the countless friends and family who make this experience what it is, year after year.

For me, this ride has always been about a cause I was raised to believe in. The Pan-Mass Challenge has been woven into my life since I was six years old, when my sisters and I handed out water and collected donations in the center of our hometown — a stop along a major PMC training route. As a kid I cheered on the riders from the sidelines, and aspired to one day be able to undertake this journey myself. This year, 2025, I will be making my 17th trip to Provincetown!

Although I’ve grown up with this event, it’s only in more recent years that I’ve come to fully grasp the weight of what we’re fighting for. After riding the PMC for 28 years, my dad passed away from a glioblastoma in 2017. He may no longer ride beside us, but he is still with us—every August, every mile. And in 2020, my mom became living proof that what we do matters.

This disease touches all of us. That’s why I ride. That’s why we ride. Individually we are cyclists, donors, volunteers—but together, we are the world’s largest force against cancer.
