Dear Friends,
This summer, I'm taking on a very personal and meanigful challenge: raisning $6,000 and riding 192 miles with Team Courage Coneheads (the coneheads) in the Pan- Mass Challenge (PMC) to raise funds for Dana Farber Cancer Insttitue (DFCI). Its mor thean just a ride -- its a mission close to my heart and I'd love your suppot. This will be my eleventh PMC event. I am a cancer survivor, with continued gratitude to Dana Farber for my successful treatment and remission. I continue to ride to honor friends and loved ones who are not able to ride.
Unfortunately, many of us know someone who has been affected by cancer. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, accounting for more than 60 percent of its Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue. The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country, $972 million since 1980 and $72 million in 2023 alone! donating 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar to support the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. A majority of the dollars raised by riders are unrestricted, which allows Dana-Farber to utilize it at their discretion to support vital research and treatment trials that may have otherwise gone unfunded.Your life saving donation will go far to accelerate critical research and care at Dana -Farber, helping the brave patients recieving treatment and the families and friends supporting those patients.
The funds we raise this year are even more critical , as some federal funding has been withdrawn . Every mile I ride and every dollar I raise brings us closer to saving lives and making an a real impact. I will be leaving Sturbridge, MA at 5:00, AM on Saturday August 2, 2025 and will arrive in Bourne, MA where I will spend the night at the Mass Maritime Academy campus. On Sunday August 4, 2024 at 4:30 am I will depart Bourne,MA and I will arrive in Provincetown, MA later that morning.
100% of every doantion I recieve will go to Dana-Farber and, no matter the size, contributes to advancing the life saving mission of Dana-Farber and a world without cancer. This success is the result of a lot of people riding for, and caring about, a cure.
I've made a personal commitment to ride PMC 2024 and raise $6,000.00 and I can"t do it with out friends and family like you. I hope you can help me achieve this significant goal.
