Why I Ride ...
I have tremendous respect for the PMC organization, given that 100% of rider-raised funds go directly to Dana Farber. The PMC has donated over $831 million to cancer research and treatment in its 42 year life, and has a goal of $60+ million in 2022. Additionally, PMC is not only Dana-Farber’s largest and most consistent benefactor, but also was instrumental in seeding the COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund in the depths of the pandemic we found ourselves in. This fund provided resources for:
- Unanticipated and significant costs to keep cancer patients safe and to prevent the spread of infection
- Telemedicine technology that allowed patients and families to visit with Dana-Farber care teams
- Increased and pressing financial strains felt by patients and caregivers who lost employment
Dana-Farber does much, much more than this in the greater fight against cancer, and I am proud to partner with an organization that has such a dedicated, dynamic, and proactive track record.
