2024 Update - 2023 was an incredible ride. I raised nearly $12,000, blowing away my goal of $7,500, so this year I am upping the target again: $15,000. This year the PMC will pass $1 Billion in total donations since the first ride 40+ years ago. I am so thrilled to be able to ride again and contribute to this amazing cause. With your help and support we can all make a difference in the lives of people dealing with these diseases.
2023 Update - Last year was a life changing event. I cannot describe how hard the ride was (186 miles, 95 degree heat!) and how that difficulty pales in comparison to the impact that the PMC has on the lives of people dealing with cancer. Throughout the ride I met wonderful people riding in support of loved ones and others riding in support of themselves. The community is completely driven on doing good in this world, one mile at a time. I will be a life-long rider from here on out.
My original note -
Having children changes your perspective on a lot of things: work, drama, life.
For me, I've started to focus more on what I could be doing to leave the world in a better place for my girls, Brooklyn and Cameron. Donating to environmental causes and organizations that support those dealing with cancer always seemed like the right thing to do - like I could check a box off some unseen list. But again that perspective, it has changed, and I no longer want to be just a financier of good causes.
I'm choosing to ride because I want to expand my impact. Network effects are almost as powerful as compounding interest so by shifting from writing a check to riding and raising I am doing more than I could before. And for those families dealing with pediatric cancer, they are already dealing with enough. I want to use this event to help shoulder the burden and the stress. If you've landed on this page because you know me or by luck then, thank you! I hope you can contribute to this cause. I hope too, that you consider riding in the future. The more shoulders, the lighter the load.
With 100% of the rider raised donations going directly to those who need support or programs that are working to eliminate these awful diseases, I can think of no better way to get involved.
Thank you for supporting my ride!
