Cycling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. After college I started to enjoy the challenging and strenuous nature of long distance road riding which has been my preferred cycing expression since. It has been a conduit in which I have found joy, happiness, pain, grit, self-relience, community, connection, and an inner peace. Cycling has given me so much and now it is time for me to use cycling to give back.
During my career in biotech I have been a part of teams that are truly changing the outcomes of a cancer diagnosis. Hearing stories from patients and caregivers on how current treatments are genuinely life changing gives me an incredible drive to keep going everyday. Knowing that the work I do can directly impact a patients life is incredibly motivating.
The road from drug discovery, to research and development, to a cancer treatment is long and arduous. Just like the miles of the PMC race, there is no option other than to keep moving foward towards finding cancer cures! I'm a proud supporter of the PMC because it is leading a charge to beat cancer. In fact, last year 100% of rider-raised revenue went directly to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's tireless commitment to finding a cure.
I can't wait to be a part of the PMC and ride for the cure and then hit the lab to continue working on this life changing research!
