Riding in the PMC is very important to me because of the commitment they have to cancer research. I have witnessed at an early age how cancer can affect a family. My mother and little brother both had cancer when I was very young. My brother was only 6 when he got cancer and I remember going to Dana-Farber with him all the time. That’s when I met the toughest people in the world. Those kids were going through so much and still somehow found a way to smile. Sean won his battle with cancer and I know the help he from received Dana-Farber was a major factor. My mother fought as hard as anyone could, but she lost her fight with cancer in 1991. They were both the strongest people I have ever met in my life, and they will ride with me during the PMC, as they are with me every day. Over the years I have seen cancer take many others and we ride in the PMC to honor them all. I will do anything I can do to help improve cancer research. Riding in the PMC for Team Boston Fire is an honor, and a privilege I will never take for granted.
