Why I Ride ...
For the tenthyear, I am proud and honored to ride the 163 mile Pan-Mass Challenge Bike ride in loving memory of my nephew Evan Mandeville. In November of 2011, Evan was diagnosed with DIPG, an inoperable brain tumor at the age of 11: exactly a year from when he was diagnosed Evan passed away. Evan was a tremendous kid with a smile that would melt anyone’s heart no matter what he was doing. I hope to capture some of Evan’s courage, strength and charisma as I train and ride for this challenge. He is always with me in my heart and I think of him everyday.
I am riding in remembrance of Evan and to help find a cure for DPIG. No other family should have to endure what Evan’s friends and family have gone through. The folks at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute are amazing people and your support will help to continue to work towards a cure. Please join me in supporting their efforts.
100% of the funds raised by Evan’s Crew will go directly to the Evan T. Mandeville DIPG research fund so that one day there will be a cure
