Thank you to all of my supporters, donors and family!
I hope that this letter finds you and your family in the best of health and enjoying the spring season, almost the unofficial start to the summer!
Welcome to my 28th fundraising letter for the Pan Mass Challenge on behalf of Dana Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund. Thank you to all of my supporters last year bringing me over the $152,000 plateau for total fundraising and a new one year's best of $16,484.19. Reaching Heavy Hitter for the 8th year in a row. I am unable to ride without your support.
My official ( 6 unregistered with Dad ) 28th ride will take place over 2 days and 170 miles... Day one is an 86 mile ride full of camaraderie, big hugs, orange slices, Gatorade and PBJ's all the way from Babson College to Bourne and The Mass Maritime Academy. Day 2 starts at 5:00 AM in Bourne, over the biridge and along the Cape Cod Canal watching a ball of fire rise out of the east! The camaraderie and volunteers greeting you along the way motivate and thrust you through the head winds of Truro and into Provincetown!! There are many individuals and families with signs, cheering, encouraging, giving high-fives along the route or passing out extra water, twizzlers and yes, beer and now pickle juice.
There will always be hundred’s of supporters and riders at the Mass. Maritime and at P-town with a welcoming greeting, shower, massage and a friendly face.
It’s not about the ride, or the food. Have to admit, the lobster rolls at the finish are great. It has always been about, The Cause!! Being committed to curing cancer and funding continued research.
I ride in memory of my Sister in law Charlene, who left three adult-children in the Fall of 2020. My Aunt Eleanor, Cousin Arnie, Kim G., Rachel D., Ed G., Pam A., Saf B., Jan W., Jay Z., Wendy H., Mitch S., Ross A., David G., Joni A., Danielle M. and Shifra P. who lost their battles to cancer whiling embodying a zest for life. Their energy filled many hearts and homes. The patients, doctors, nurses, researchers and staff don’t give up and neither will we.
I greatly appreciate you supporting me in the past for this great cause. If you are in a position this year to continue, or start supporting the Pan Mass Challenge, at any level, on behalf of the Jimmy Fund | Dana Farber Cancer Institute, we would be most grateful. Please make your donation to PMC/Jimmy Fund at PMC.org/donate/Arthur Cantor
The PMC donates 100% of every dollar raised, generating 62% of Dana Farber’s philanthropic revenue.
Since 1980, the PMC has raised over $One Billion Dollars for Dana-Farber. Last year, together, we raised $72 million. This astounding fundraising achievement would not have been possible without every single donor - 100 percent of every rider-raised dollar goes to cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber.
You can be sure I am back on the bike and training this spring. Not as young as I use to be, so training is important…
May you and your families always have strong health, be safe and stay well.
With much gratitude and apprerciation,
Arthur Cantor
