I'm a proud participant in the Pan-Mass Challenge - a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other single athletic fundraising event in the country - to bring us Closer by the Mile to a cure for cancer. Since its founding in 1980, PMC has raised more than $1 billion for lifesaving cancer research, treatment and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the country's top cancer care hospitals. 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to Dana-Farber, meaning that your donation has a real impact! Please consider donating to my PMC fundraising and help me reach my fundraising goal.
2025 is my first year riding the PMC and I'm excited to be doing so with Team Nashua Rides for Hope. Team Hope is a team from across New England (and now New York!) that has been riding PMC for over 20 years, surpassing over $4 million raised for Dana Farber during that span. Our team has lost loved ones to cancer and includes several cancer survivors.
In addition to being strong riders, Team Hope is made up of close family friends, and in 2012 even included my mom! Watching her ride in the event was one of the highlights of that summer, and I was in awe of her preparation and commitment to the event and her fundraising. What makes this year particularly special for me is that she will be coming out of PMC retirement to ride alongside me and my best friend Calvin in our first Pan-Mass Challenge.
The ride is about 190mi over 2 days, from Sturbridge in central Massachusetts to the tip of Provincetown. We will likely also be biking 90mi the day before the event, from Massachusetts' western border with New York to the starting line, making the three days officially span across the full state.
If you are in a position to donate, I greatly appreciate it! Any donation of $50 or more will receive a hand-written thank you card after the event :)
