Sarcoma Research in honor of Jeff Guyer
I'm riding in the Head for the Hills race in Cedar Hill, TX on Saturday, May 7. I'm riding in honor of my friend, Jeff Guyer, as part of Team Jaguar. Team Jaguar is raising funds for sarcoma research at Dana Farber Medical Center and has already raised over $50,000.
I'm riding, because Jeff needs this research. Jeff has been fighting sarcoma since June 2010. I've known Jeff since elementary school. My first memory of him was in 2nd grade, sitting next to each other in Mrs. Friedman's class. Jeff and I argued over who could color better. We became better friends in high school at Greenhill, both catching the Evergreen (high school newspaper) bug. We traveled to Columbia University yearly to for the newspaper to compete (and win!) nationally, and I recently looked through the photos of us laughing and eating our way through New York. Senior year, Jeff was the design editor, and I was the editor-in-chief. Under Jeff's leadership, the staff redesigned the paper, won more national awards, ate Chick Fil-A late at night at layout, spent hours on Photoshop (even in the '90s), and skipped out to stay current on movies and restaurants near Greenhill. I recently reconnected with Jeff at a wedding, and it was wonderful to reminisce but also remind myself what a smart, thoughtful, funny, and creative guy he is. Please donate to sarcoma research and to support Jeff.
